Hi there! How did I get to this place exactly? God called me to create a life where I could spend more time at home, investing in my marriage, the lives of my children and to live a life of independence by going back to the land.
It seems like we’ve had chickens and gardened for ages. We’ve preserved food through methods of canning and cellar storage, but the thought and desire to raise meat birds and have a family milk cow came just a few years ago.
I did research, read books, asked for advice. Fear kept those desires dormant for some time. When the need presented itself, the times were looking wildly biblical and our family knew to take action sooner than later. With encouragement from friends, we were sure meat birds and a family milk cow were the perfect additions. We added a used old chicken tractor and learned how to process poultry. Next, we built a little barn and fenced off part of our property, later creating sections of pasture for our sweet dairy cow.
Fast forward…and now, it is my goal to provide high-quality herd shares and maybe even poultry, as well as homemade goods, fresh garden produce, herbs and seeds to others, all while providing for our family as we continue to cultivate a lifestyle of self-sustainability.
